Shipping and Handling

Puppets by Jeff wants you to get your puppet quickly and safely.

That's why I have chosen to use USPS Priority Mail as my shipping method.  Puppets will be shipped via USPS Priority Mail, usually in a 12x12x8 inch box.

That's the same size as the Priority Mail Flat Rate Large Box, but it's NOT a Flat Rate Box.

Why no Flat Rate Box??  Simply because shipping the items in a standard box will more than likely save you some money.  A Large Flat Rate Box costs $14.50 to ship, however, most of my puppets along with the standard accessories like a shirt and two arm rods will come in at under 2 pounds.  This means that the maximum amount that Priority Mail would cost in a standard box is $9.55...and that would be to the farthest zone in the Continental United States.

Basically, you will save AT LEAST $4.95 by going with a standard box versus the Flat Rate Box.

If you order other products, such as a puppet stand, shipping may end up being a bit more, but you will get an invoice for the shipping so that you know exactly how your order breaks down.

Shipping by weight on something that is relatively light like a puppet seems to be the best option.  Even a Medium Flat Rate Box would end up being more expensive than shipping with the weight in a standard box.

There will be no real "handling" charges on the products.  You will be charged solely for the shipping of the items, so you know that what you are paying for shipping is what it is actually costing me to ship the items.

I don't charge for handling because puppets are relatively easy to ship and aren't really very fragile.  I also live near a Post Office so it's not difficult for me to make it there to do the shipping.  I also don't particularly like inflated handling charges on items that I buy, so I don't want my customers to feel the same way.
