Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some questions that I have found that I get from customers and other people that are interested in my puppets on a regular basis.  This page will be updated as necessary when new products become available.

  • Q.  Do your puppets all come with arm rods??
  • A.  Yes.  All Puppets by Jeff puppets come with a simple arm rod that can be put on either of your puppets arms.  The only exception would be Live Arm style puppets, and puppets that don't have arms.

  • Q.  What size are the puppets that you sell??
  • A.  The Basic Characters and Basic PLUS Characters are all about 18 inches tall when they don't have legs attached to them.  If you decide to go with the optional legs, the height is about 24 inches from bottom of the foot to the top of the head.  If a Basic or Basic PLUS Character is larger than that, it will be clearly stated in the description of the puppet.

  • Q.  Paddy and Dart style puppets look the same to me.  What is the difference??
  • A.  The main difference between Paddy and Dart is found on top of their heads.  If you look closely you will see that they have different styles of eyes.  Dart's eyes are solid colored, with black pupils, and are surrounded by a multicolored part that tends to "tie" the colors of the eyes and the puppet's skin together.  Paddy, on the other hand, has eyes that are the same color as his body with more "reptile" styled pupils.  Paddy's eyes are also very slightly larger due to the construction of them.  The other difference is the hair.  Dart typically comes with a square patch of hair directly behind and between his eyes, where Paddy comes with a thin line of hair in the same general spot.  Basically, Paddy has a mowhawk and Dart does not.

  • Q.  Can I get a Dart with the same type of eye pupils as Paddy?
  • A.  Absolutely.  Contact me at PuppetsByJeff@gmail.com to make this request and I can most certainly accomadate that.

  • Q.  What are the puppets made of??
  • A.  Puppets with "smooth skin" are made of primarily fleece.  The same type of fleece that jackets and sweatshirts are made out of.  The puppets that are "furry" are made out of high quality faux fur.  The faux fur can be different in texture from other furs, but you should be able to get a general idea of what the fur looks like by looking at the photos.  All puppets also use foam for the "skeleton" that makes sure that they keep their body structure.  Other materials can be many various things, but nothing that would be considered harmful or dangerous.

  • Q.  How long does it take to get a custom made puppet??
  • A.  I generally can make a custom puppet in just a few days.  If materials need to be ordered, I will let you know before hand.  I usually say that your puppet will be shipped about one week after you place your order.  Larger orders or more than one puppet generally take about one week per puppet.

  • Q.  How long does it take to add accessories like legs to a puppet I bought on Ebay??
  • A.  Generally about two days.  I usually can get the additional parts added to the puppet the day the auction ends or the next day.

  • Q. Can you do special characters??
  • A. Contace me at PuppetsByJeff@gmail.com for more information about special characters.

  • Q.  Why should I buy from you??
  • A.  Good question.  I really enjoy making puppets.  I think that enjoyment carries over into the final product.  Each one of my puppets is unique due to the elements of them being hand made.  Seams will be slightly different, even the overall shape of the puppet might be slightly different.  That gives each one character and makes them special.  I really love puppets, and I think that my love for them shows in every one that I make.
